Trisagion prayer service at grave site of Ecumenical Patriarch Athinagoras
Today marks 50 years since the repose in the Lord of Ecumenical Patriarch Athinagoras, who served as the shepherd of the Mother Church for 24 years.
On Thursday, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, traveled to the Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring in Valoukli, officiating at a Trisagion prayer service at the grave site of his memorable predecessor, Athinagoras.
A patriarchal and synodal Divine Liturgy will be held on Sunday at the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. George at the Phanar, followed by a memorial service for the blessed Athinagoras.
