Turkish invasion displaces Christians in NE Syria

Roughy 40,000 Christians in war-ravaged Syria have been displaced during the recent incursions by the Turkish army and that country’s extremist proxies in Syria’s northeast.

In an announcement, the World Council of Churches expressed its absolute condemnation and great concern over the situation in the Mideast country, as more than 300,000 Christians in the country have been displaced since the war began in 2011.

In Greece, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Thursday morning received Israel’s ambassador to Greece, Yossi Amrani. Discussions revolved around bilateral relations between the national governments as well as issues of mutual interest.
