Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau – Performance review workshop for Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau member facilities

In the bid to enhance capacity in performance and management of Uganda Orthodox Church Medical facilities, UOMB with funding from UHSS/USAID Activity organized a three days workshop for all facility In-Charges and Data managers in performance review and management.

This strategic meeting took place at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel, Rubaga Division, Kampala from September 30th to October 2nd 2020.

The facilities considered were the higher level facilities, from Health Center III to Hospital level.

Various performance management presentations on institutional Data management, Human resource management, financial management, infrastructure development quality service delivery and COVD-19 mitigation measures were shared among other issues.

During various interactions among attending member facilities, the Medical bureau was greatly commended for the continues supported rendered to the facilities through technical support and most notifiable during this period of Covid-19 pandemic, the distribution of COVID19 mitigation materials donated with the generous support from IOCC, which helped in the prevention of spread of the deadly corona virus among the local communities.

At the end of the 3 days, the team managed to draft operational tools to enable sustainable reporting, data management and analysis, exchange experience of good practice with fellow facilities and most of all agree on the way towards to the sustained development of the facilities to meet the needs the communities they operate in.

The Executive Secretary of the Medical Bureau, Dr. Sande George thanked the members for honoring the invites mostly during these pandemic times and urged them to better implement and share what they have attained during this workshop/ gathering. He also commended the great work done by UOMB technical team led by Dr Okello Samuel the program coordinator at the Medical Bureau.

The workshop was officially closed by Mr. Kawooya George William the assistant Chairperson UOMB Board.
