US Embassy in Georgia says Secretary Pompeo was pleased to meet with His Holiness, Georgian Orthodox Church Patriarch Ilia II.
During the meeting, the Secretary and His Holiness discussed Georgia’s important role in promoting and protecting religious freedom around the world.
Secretary Pompeo has already met with Georgian President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. After meeting with the Patriarch, Pompeo will hold a meeting with civil sociaty.
