The main Metropolitan Cathedral in the northern city of Thessaloniki was the target of vandals overnight, with up to 10 perpetrators throwing paint against the church’s exterior and tossing leaflets with political statements in the courtyard.
According to police, two suspects, aged 24 and 22, were arrested, with subsequent reports pointing to another four suspects identified.
The perpetrators are allegedly members of a so-called “anarchist collective” in the city.
