The Standing Holy Synod of the Church of Greece announced that the International Scientific Conference for the 100th anniversary of the journal “Theologia” (Theology), “Orthodox Theology on the way to the ‘immaterial reality’ of late modernity”, which will be held in Athens from 11 to 14 October 2023, will be honoured by the presence of the following Orthodox Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches:

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Metropolitan Theodore of Laodicea, Grand Ecclesiarch Archimandrite Aetios, Director of the Patriarchal Office, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne, Eleftherios Chrysochos, Patriarchal Deacon Epiphanius Kamianovych and his associates from the Secretaries of the Patriarchate.

His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria. His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon of Naucratis, at the beginning of the Conference, will represent the Patriarch of Alexandria until his arrival on Friday,13 October 2023.

His Beatitude Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus together with Deacon Michalis Nikolaou.

His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, together with Deacon Topanxha Vital.

The following Autocephalous Orthodox Churches will also be represented:

The Patriarchate of Antioch and His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch will be represented by Metropolitan Ephraim of Berroia and Alexandretta (Aleppo) and Bishop Romanos of Seleucia.

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem and Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem will be represented by Archbishop Nektarios of Anthidon, along with the Exarch of the Holy Sepulchre in Athens, Archimandrite Raphael Grivas.

Bishop Ignatije of Branicevo will represent the Church of Serbia and Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia. The Church of Romania and Patriarch Daniel of Romania will be represented by Archbishop Ciprian of Buzau and Vrancea and Fr. George Holbea.

The Church of Bulgaria and Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria will be represented by Metropolitan Grigory of Vratsa, Bishop Polikarp of Belogradchik and Deacon Simeon Borisov Ivaylov.

The Church of Georgia and Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia will be represented by Metropolitan Theodore of Achalchikhe and Tao-Klarjeti, Metropolitan Andrew of Gori and Ateni (Gwazawa) and Protopresbyter George Zviadadze.

The Church of Poland will be represented by the Professors of Theology, Jerzy Ostapczuk and Jerzy Betlejko.

In addition, the heads of the Autonomous Orthodox Churches will also attend the conference:
